Currently operate to a ISO/TS 16949:2002 accredited quality system. Our Quality system is based on a process approach to Quality Management and has full support of the Management Team. We hold weekly upper management meetings to ensure that we are meeting the expectations of our customers and are adhering to our business plan for continuous improvement of the quality system. This includes planned expansion of our A2LA accreditation to our third location in late 2005 and expanded production capabilities.
We currently have two A2LA accredited labs that are capable of :
Heat Treat
Hardness
Micro Hardness
Structure Classification
Tensile Testing
Plating
Plating Thickness
Plating Constituents
Torque Tension
Salt Spray
Embrittlement Testing
Our Quality system complies with the Prime Customer requirements (Ford, GM, and Chrysler). We have been audited and passed the Ford WHT-X Heat Treat requirements from several of our Tier I customers and from a Ford representation.
We employ degreed Metallurgists that review our heat treat system on a daily basis and assist the management team in upgrades to the quality system as it pertains to the Heat Treat process. We also have quality representation at all locations to assist the production department in meeting the customer requirements by reporting the status of the quality system to the Director of Quality.
We have a complete department (Pace machines and manual sorting) dedicated to Fastener Decontamination; this is utilized as a service to our customers and for data acquisition on our processes for improvements.
Our Plating department is on the cutting edge of the industry. Our ownership is dedicated to offering the latest plating technology by the use of company specific chemical recipe’s that always meet and usually exceed the customers’ expectations.
We are committed to the reduction of foreign material introduction by the processes we employ at Chem-Plate. Some of the programs that we utilize are:
· A monthly F/M review board that reviews the operations at Chem-Plate line by line to ensure that we are addressing catch points on the production lines.
· A monthly review by management of the F/M reduction team conclusions
· A voluntary bin swapping program to allow our customers to give us empty bins for the use at the end of our production line. This helps to reduce the incidence of stuck parts in bins prior to Heat Treat and therefore not sending soft un-heat treated parts back to our customer.
In addition to the above we have a job scanning system in place at all production related and quality related check points in the production system to ensure that we maintain lot integrity. All processes that are called out by the customer must be completed prior to shipment. If any job has a step in the process that is not scanned as complete, the system will not allow a bill of lading to be produced and the material will immediately have a Defective material report issued.
We have at our disposal an ISO-9000-2000 Chemical supply organization (Straus Chemical Corp.) This allows us the latitude to adjust our chemical processes to meet our customers specific quality demands.
As a result of all the above we at Chem-Plate Industries feel we are in a position to meet and exceed our customer requirements.
